Rcw 103

Hi to all

I've noticed this one on Megastar from time to time and finally got round to imaging it. It's redder than I would have expected for a supernova remnant but I think that's the way it's supposed to be. Part of the data was obtained when there was a lot of moon but it doesn't seem to have made much difference.

Cheers

Steve

Superb job there Steve! That one is very difficult to tease out from the starry background.

Just had a look at our ancient effort. Gulp. We might have teased a bit more OIII out of it, but yours is razor sharp, with no hint of deconvolution artifacts, and no hint of magenta halos. Excellent.

Thanks M&T. It certainly turned out better than I expected.

Thanks Colin. Yes I like that feature too. Apart from the colour it's almost like a miniature Veil nebula.

Thanks Mike. I must get back to the halo candidates. There's a whole list of them piling up.

Nicely done Steve....the ion milling in your 'scope is really showing in that image...very contained and smooth stellar profiles. Good stuff!

Thanks Peter. I certainly don't regret buying that scope but I would also like to have one like yours too.

Hi Steve

Thats a fine image, the details are excellent. Will take a look through RCW at some point given there are some interesting objects you have been putting up lately.

Beautiful work Steve!

I assume that very faint red scattered around the frame is real?

Great work Steve. I am quite fond of SuperNova Remnants and this one is nicely done.

Greg.

Thanks Greg. I'm surprised at the lack of OIII but apparently that's correct.
