Stoopid cloud

How weird has this current cloud pattern been over the east coast?

I've watched it the last few days and it's just parked itself over us.

It doesn't look like it's moving eastward much at all.

More just swirling down in an almost straight north-south direction.

Looked like it would clear last night but nope!!!!

Hi Matt, they are teasing us at the moment. I've been watching them all day and they seem to start clearing, only to come back again.
One minute I'm getting all excited then I'm not.
It certainly pays to be an optimist in this game.

cheers

At least it's finally raining here and the cloud is doing what it's supposed to do, instead of hanging around like a...well you know, as it has been for the past month.

That's a fair point, Paul.

If it's gonna be cloudy it may as well rain

well its all you guys faults , not mine I only bought a lens for the camera, 2 solar filters, a few other knickknaky things like a pier and digital vernier calipers (got those for $22 from bunnings) . I hope it is pristine on thursday though though it is topping up our dams

I'm not liking the look of that cloud band developing in the west

Let's hope that

a) It dissipates before it reaches the east coast

or b) it hasn't arrived or it's already past us by Thursday morning.

Fingers crossed, Andrew.

Seems to me it's been a fairly crap late winter/spring season?

Just can't seem to get a run of good weather/seeing

There is a broad long wave trough over Australia at the moment so you can guarentee storms to the west and east of central Australia, and some leaking into the centre. and with storms comes cloud unfortunately.

Not looking great for Thursday.. maybe patchy cloud.

Haven't had the scope out in 9 days now! At least it rained on the weekend.

Yep. We've got the same forecast as you, Mike.

As you say, if it's gonna be cloudy the very least it can do is pour down!!!

All for the greater good... blah blah blah

clear skies on friday last i looked... bugger.

you know, if everyone didnt go out and buy a solar filter then we'd be fine
its only the filter purchases that are causeing all this east coast cloud!
