M8

M8 - HaRGB Looks like a zombie

Ha 15x5mi
RGB 21 x 3min each
WO FLT132, moravian G2-8300
I also took Lum with this but the focuser shifted slightly and i was unhappy to use them ( 28 x 5min )
How do you control the blue rings around stars?
I might create a mosaic as i'm not too fussed on the fov

Cheers
George

Wow - I really like that capture - you've managed to keep the detail in the central and extended parts of the nebula and the colour feels natural, especially since the stars show a nice range of colours and don't feel processed. I think you've also done a great job retaining subtle details in the dust lanes too. I don't have any suggestions for improvement, I just wanted to say how much I like this image as an example of M8. Nice work!!

It is a really nice Lagoon George, the blue rings can be a bit of a pain aye They can be a bit difficult to control at times, I am still trying to find the best way of doing it myself. A lot of it comes down to playing with star masks. At the end it can also be worth while to do some selective desaturations.

Excellent work! Lots of lovely fine detail in all our favourite sub-features. Nicely processed.
