What is this? Any ideas?

This came down on a single 180s sub just a moment ago.

At first I thought a high satellite, but it seemed unusually bright and tapers off to darkness too nicely. I checked for iridium flares or any named satellites at 10:17-10:20pm .. nothing I could see in my apps.

But when I zoomed in closer it seems even weirder.. as it's not hitting one colour in the CFA on my OSC CCD sensor. So whatever it was can't have been visible light or man-made .. or it would have got caught by those missing pixels right? Seems like G&B pixels only.

So I'm going to guess some kind of cosmic ray strike or radiation? Although I've never seen one so uniform. Weird eh?

What do you guys think?

re-entry of a meteorite of pure copper? Single emission or narrow wavelength light seems right, never seen anything like it. The laser idea is a good one, though I'd be surprised that it wasn't more blurred by movement, assuming it was handheld. I have no more ideas though!

The tapering off with altitude is consistent with a laser, assuming left side is from the ground up. Then again in Byron Bay it could well be an alien signal.

Aircraft starboard navigation light. I've seen a few over the years

I'd suggest it was banking at the time,
(the lights are not omnidirectional) hence brightness change over time as the roll progressed.

Yeh I'm going with laser too.. the light emission seems too pure for anything else. I'm not saying it's aliens but ... Thanks guys!
