quick fire m16

Got the scope out to nab Mars - before it gets away from us, decided to point to M16 for no particular reason other than i haven't been under the skies since feb.

4 x 5 mins Ha due to my shoddy planetary PA in this instance.

Link to large https://www.flickr.com/photos/803366...blic/lightbox/

mixed in to R and L in some old noisey DSLR data for no particular reason except boredom really.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/803366...blic/lightbox/ doing that is a pleasant reminder on how much better ccd's are!

more data would help but seriously what a clean chip these little 694s are.
been a few clear skies out of late, although the forecasting hasn't been accurate enough for me to set up and leave the gear out for a couple of nights. surely soon we'll string together a few nights.

on another note how good are the photos being posted up in this forum of late? jaw dropping goodness - so much talent

clear skies

Too right ...just getting out there is what it can be all about sometimes. Then you still manage to compose a pretty good image like this to boot! Win-Win

Great detail, Russ. Placidus's "reluctant parachutist" shows up nicely.

Cheers,
Rick.

thanks for the kind words Ray.

I always seem to be battling with tilt on one side of frame (left in this instance).
I am undecided if the cause is the moonlite RCC1 combo or the TSOAG9. I am considering buying a more sturdy OAG.
