Mars opposes!

Folks,

Luck was (sort of) in last night with Mars' opposition, the conditions were variable as you can see from the images but I was happy to have had a chance at all

A different face from last week for sure, hope the weather gives us more chances in the coming weeks

Kit: C11 Edge HD, TV Powermate 2.5x, ZWO ASI224MC.

Edit: added image 4, a WinJUPOS "derotate" of some closely captured sequences.

Cheers,
Dunk

Very fine indeed Dunk. That second one looks to be one of your very best, and really nicely processed. I'm just doing a couple from last night too, we had top seeing, but I'm not in your league

I am with Andy, your best so far

Going to be very interesting to see how my image fairs compared to yours! A unique opportunity to see how two different imagers with two different systems will compare!

my blue channel shows a lot more south pole cloud than yours which is interesting

Very nice indeed! Gotta be happy with those shots.

Conditions were poor in Melbourne but I did go take a look at around 4:30am. It never ceases to astound me how much bigger and brighter Mars gets in a matter of weeks leading up to opposition.

Great set Dunk, I wondered if you would be out at opposition as it was clear for a time with good seeing.

John.

Thanks Steve, John! We were lucky for a while, but the seeing seemed to deteriorate after 10pm

Looking at the WinJUPOS pic, it looks like I was a bit heavy handed with the red

It is a shame your seeing degraded after 10pm . Looks like John got some good conditions before that cloud came in - i was packing up already when the cloud got out to my way

Still a great result Dunk .
