I am having a clear out of the excess telescopes that I do not need in my personal collection, so you will be seeking quite a lot of gear going for sale at some really good prices in the next month as I go through them - these are used telescopes from my personal collection
The first to sell off is an Orion UK Hilux 140mm f2000mm Maksutov Cassegrain
This is Orion UK, not to be confused with Orion USA which are a different company. This is also the premium Hilux model, not to be confused with lower spec units
The unit on offer is a 140mm aperture Maksutov Cassegrain with a focal length of 2000mm. It features a fine focus capability using a rotating dial gauge type focusing mechanism which is I recommend is more precise than standard Cassegrain focusing mechanisms
It also has a dew shield/ light cowl built into it as standard, which you do not find with many Cassegrains
I have found a case for it, an old William Optics unit that fits it nicely, so am including this in the supply
These sell from Orion UK for around the GBP 800 mark plus shipping and import costs, so you would expect to pay around the AUD $ 2,600 landed for one if you purchased one new
