Birds and Bellingen

These were taken at my parents house in Bellingen. They've got 50 acres, mostly bush, with a nice cleared area on a ridge for their house.

Most of these were taken with the 75-300mm lens, except for the old plough shots which were taken with the 18-55.

Nice dark skies there, would be a lovely place to live if it wasn't so far away

Absolutely fabulous, Mike.

Do you know what the bird in the first two images is? It looks like a Butcher Bird to me (sort of) but the ones around here tend to have not as solid a colour on their head. For those who have not met the Butchers, they have the most beautiful songs in their repertoire which they often put on show when the dawn chorus is in full swing.

'S OK, Mike. I dug out one of my reference books. It appears to be the Grey Butcherbird.

Nice shots Mike
Bellingen is one of the nicest towns you will find anywhere I always drop in there when up at Coffs visiting the Family
And Mike Bellingen isn't far if you live there
