i cannot believe that there has been ZERO discusssion on this massive event here on IIS................. amateur astronomers must be sick to death of witnessing such occurences haha!........... amazing!!

This happened near sunrise here in Aust. Someone in WA might have caught it , but imagers in South Africa and Europe would have had the best chance.

There's nothing on Go's website... he was imaging yesterday and didn't report anything.

Nice to see. Was there an impact scar as well afterwards ?bits overcast here so I can't get a look.

The first well photographed event is the one that makes the headlines (Shoemaker - Levi). Being roughly the 27th impact (S-L being 1-22) wont make page 5, never mind a headline.

PS the SL impacts left crescent-shaped marks that persisted in the atmosphere for weeks.
