NEQ6 Pro and Pier

Hi everyone,

I've decided (regretfully) to sell my mount and pier setup. Last year I decided to sell my guiding and my main imaging setup as they were not being used as much as they should and work is consuming all my spare time these days. As there seems like there is no end in sight for the long hours and time away from home, I've decided to let the mount go too.

I'm selling my NEQ6 Pro with all the additions. This includes the heavy duty tripod, SynScan hand controller, two 5kg counter weights as well as the EQ Direct interface module with associated RS232 to USB cable. This allows you to control the mount with a laptop and appropriate software. Everything comes in its original packaging and I still have the receipts from when I bought it.

As well as the mount I'm selling the pier which I bought for my observatory. The pier is made of heavy duty steel weighing in at around 40kg. The top plate that came with it did not suit the EQ6 bracket so I had one professionally made from stainless steel which replicates the tripod head exactly. The pier is rock solid and I couldn't recommend one highly enough if you're thinking about a more permanent solution.

Ideally I would like to sell these two together as a package. I'm asking $1400 for the mount. That includes everything in the second paragraph.

For the pier I'm asking $250. I originally purchased it for $100 and the head cost $370 to have made up.

If the person interested wanted to package the pier and mount together I would consider knocking the price a little bit.

I would highly recommend picking this stuff up directly and not shipping as there are about 5 boxes and the pier all weighing in just under 100kg. I could look at courier costs but that will obviously be expensive.

I like in the Baulkham Hills area so if you're interested feel free to sort out a time and come and have a look.

Cheers,
Angus.

NB. The fourth picture is from when I originally purchased the pier and does not have the EQ6 adapted head. The second picture shows the adapted head.

Argh. I'd dearly love to but I'm having enough trouble justifying the $1300 for a HEQ5 to my wife... such a shame as this really is an amazing price.

Just a hypothesis: if it doesn't go at this price, the universe may be telling you to hold onto it. Your work may not be done.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. If no one wants it at this price I'll hold onto it for sure.

Interested in your mount. Still for sale? Can I drop around to inspect?
