First-light with a 180mm f2.8 Takahashi Epsilon Newtonian

Hi,

I recently got an 180mm f2.8 Takahashi Epsilon Newtonian (sold my 130mm f3.3 one).

Here’s a first-light image of the M42 region (in Orion) taken last night with the SBIG STL11000M CCD – 30 x 5 sec to 20 min exposures, Clear filter, 1x1, –20*C, average combined. The FOV is 4.1 x 2.7 degrees.

Must admit, I like the scope!

Regards

Looks great, John! Did you have any trouble getting the scope collimated?

Cheers,
Rick.

Pretty impressive John. I've sold my Epsilon 180 now but I have to admit I had problems with getting it collimated.

Cheers

Steve
