Thanks for your concern Dean.
I am fine.
I visit almost every day using various devices and have done so since I joined the forum.
So even if I do not appear as logged on you can bet I am visiting or have visited that day.
I am rarely logged on if I viewing photos for example.
Even when I die I will still visit.
Again thank you for your concern.
Alex

I have always found Alex to have a haunting and profound intellect. His posts in the science threads are always multi-planar.

Have a read thru the 3D Printer thread currently for some more eclectic Alexisms. A most interesting dinner guest one feels he would be...

Forrest Gump is not a real person.
In truth I have never had an iq test but suspect I would be average or below average.
Having a wild imagination is my only asset (or liability)

xelasnave quite some time ago I worked out the Universe was not a kind place. Too many people deciding who or whom was worthy. I do not care for anyone who wants to rank their fellow man by some arbitrary measurement.

My thingy is bigger than yours comes to mind.

Your postulation some time ago about gravity 'push' is real and it is due to dark energy. This concept goes back to the big bang and inflation as now we have a mechanism for 'inflation'!

The Nobel Prize was awarded recently for the discovery that the Universe is expanding at an accelerating rate due to dark energy.

Seems that Einstein's biggest blunder was anything but that.

It is all in the very complex mathematics.

Hi Bert it is so wonderful to hear from you.
My approach has been not to look up to folk or look down upon them.
I recall when I was on about push gravity the cosmological constant was site as his biggest blunder but it seems not so much these days.I would say it was his greatest insite.
The irony was having spent years trying to work up a hypothesis for push gravity I find that Le Sage presented the idea in 1745.
I still can't do the math but GR works well so I doubt if I could present a better model and I can't think how I could make a better prediction etc.
The attempt I made to geometrical describe space did tell me however that describing empty space was difficult and I could see GR did that very well and way beyond anything I could offer.
I would still love to have an answer as to how gravity works.
Again so good to have you back.
I noticed your great astro shots recently its great to see you are doing so well.

"My approach has been not to look up to folk or look down upon them"

That is very probably the most sensible, sensitive & profoundly equitable approach to life that I have encountered in my 52 orbits...

xelasnave said 'I would still love to have an answer as to how gravity works.'

Of the four fundamental forces, gravity is weaker by hundreds of orders of magnitude compared to the others.

With my imagination I think of gravity leaking into other dimensions so making it far weaker. These same dimensions actually make a pair of particles that are linked by the 'spooky action' at a distance or quantum entanglement that is in fact the same particle but linked by dimensions we cannot perceive.

String theory may lead to some elucidation. All we need are definitive experiments.

It may even explain dark matter.

We live in exciting and nimble times! Bert

That is a great post Bert because it raises more questions.
Are you proposing a model with particles.
Do you think string theory will come up with an experiment that may give it a scientific basis.
