Final version of Running Chicken (I hope)

I managed to get some deep OIII to add to the colour I had so far and this is the result. I always find this one hard to process because it's a combination of bright stars and faint nebulosity. It's probably best done in narrowband and maybe I'll get some SII next but it's not a high priority.

Thanks Colin. The globules are certainly a nice feature of this nebula.

Very nice, Steve. I think I actually prefer the high detail of the Ha mono version but both images are very good.

Thanks Rick. It's certainly true that you can't beat Ha for high contrast detail

Thanks Geoff. Yes - I have to agree. This object looks great in high resolution Ha. I'm currently preparing a Hubble palette version though which is looking fairly promising.

An image of yours of this was an APOD in the past huh? As you say, this object tends to look best in full narrowband but this still looks good and the Bok's and Churchill's Cigar are nicely shown

Thanks Mike, yes one of my few APODs was a picture of this thing taken with the STL11K. It's interesting to compare the two. While this one has better resolution I feel the APOD was probably more photogenic. It's a problem handling the stars with a blooming CCD like the STXL6303 and this is why I think full NB is the way to go. I'm started collecting SII last night and so far a Hubble palette version is looking quite promising.

Thanks Tim. Collection of SII data is proceeding so there should be a Hubble palette image soon.
