Expressions Of Interest Starlight Xpress Camera
I have had this a while, and have the opportunity to buy a similar model, but with a bigger (always the way huh) chip. Of course bigger means more expensive as well.
Started out as an MX7C, and has both the colour chip, and the mono chip. Mono chip has always been in and I have not tried the colour setup.
In addition it has the latest SXV USB2 interface, so downloads are quicker. This new interface allows the STAR2000 auto-guiding to work, as well as having an input for the SXV Guide Head.
So basically it is SXV -M7.
Chip size is similar to the SBIG ST7, and the camera is lighter/more compact. Software is freely downloadable from the Starlight Xpress site, or it will operate with the likes of maxim DL or AstroArt.
A great way to get the feet wet in this black hole of a hobby.
E mail me off group for images with and of the camera, although they all look the same. Discussion about it and prices etc ditto please.
