Jupiter from Friday 19th

Hi all

Took a few images of Jupiter on Friday morning with the ZWO ADC and a borrowed ZWO224MC colour camera.

Unfortunately, I have to change the spacing between the camera & barlow because the increased distance due to the ADC gives too much amplification (about f/25).

Seeing was only average, and Jove was at about 38 degrees in altitude during capture. I can report that the ADC worked well. Just to check, I set it to the neutral position & the dispersion was abundant in the live color image on the screen.

As usual I used a C14, ZWO224MC camera at 40FPS. Best 3000 of 5000 frames (approximately) & the image here has been reduced to 80% of original size.

Regards
Maurice

That's all fine Maurice, but how did you part the clouds?

I'm going to try tonight.

Thanks Domenic.
I think that an ADC is worth getting if you plan to image the planets at low altitude. The ZWO version is quite affordable compared to many others out there and appears to perform well. I'm happy with it.
