Refurbished DSLR

I am wanting to know is there anywhere to go that has a good reputation to buy refurbished canon camera's. I am looking at getting a new 1200d but if I could find a better model at a good rate being a refurbished model I would consider it. Also would anybody recommend this action? even for a lens i would consider this if the price was right.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Loki.

I have the 1200D, got a new bargain deal a few months ago and can recommend it. At 18 megapixels and a low noise sensor with Live View it's a dang good astro option.
The1100D , it's predecessor was ok as well but only 12 megapixel IIRC. It was a good option after the 450D which is still a good workhorse albeit getting a little old now. Mine has survived an IR cut mod and a coldfinger mod and is still alive.
I haven't modded the 1200D so far but one day it might get attacked.

Thanks for the info Brent, So do you use it with a camera lens or do you have the 1200D hooked up to a telescope? Any setup recommendations would be great. Then lens I was looking at is around $400-$500 depending on which one i go for, however If I was able to hook this up to a semi decent telescope for similar cash I would look at that also. this is the Lens I am wanting to get in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwBrd_ZwVlk

not the big lens but the 14mm F/2.8

Hi Loki,

Quite a few years ago i bought a referbished film camera from canon head office in Sydney before digitals came about. It was only the camera body. I have heard that they don't get many to sell now but I'd look into it. It even came with waranty too.

Hope this helps.

I use it through the scope with a T-Ring adapter. It came with the usual kit lens which I have used a few times but not seriously for Astro. The camera was bought specifically for astro through the scope.
I use the big SONY SLT A77v for real photography although it does good astro as well, at 24 megapixels.
