Does anyone know where I can get replacment screws for a G11 worm block assembly?
Hi guys.
I seem to have snapped off one of the screws that hold the gearbox onto the one piece worm block, it also holds the servo cover on. Does anyone know where I can get replacements. I doesn't look like the sort of thing Bunnings would stock.
Thanks
Sandy

take a spare one out and go to a specialist nut and bolt shop - I had to do this for a screw on my G11. Guy at the shop looked at it, guessed its size, went out the back, got a new one and I left the shop 50 cents lighter!!
I now buy all my nuts and bolts from this shop... Ever wonder why at Bunnings the nuts and bolts kits are always seem to have one less than you need? Makes you buy an extra pack at an inflated price.
cheers

Gary is spot on. Here in Cbr we have Specialty Fastners. They are an awesome shop for all your bits n pieces. The nuts n bolts they sell are quality, and available in a range of grades. Sydney must offer the same? If not, mail it to me...

Or call them direct, and ask if they have a sister store or supplier in Syd. They must? http://www.specfast.com.au

There's a good online supplier in Brisbane "Small Parts and Bearings". That's where I go for anything hard to find.

You just reminded me that I went to a place several years ago with a mate that needed a screw for a mount (possibly netwolf or apoman?) and they went to this place at North Parramatta for it.

There's a place called "Boltmaster" at Penrith where I have been able to get most set screws and small bolts over the years.

This is what I found, can't remember, but is it the smaller of the 3 screws? It measures about 9mm long and 2.5mm diameter, with the hex head end.

Just checking its the screw not the Hex standoff?
If it's the screw...I'm measuring it up from mine now. Sorry I don't have spares but I should be able to find an alternate from measurements. They'll be imperial ina anycase. I'll get back soon.

Ok I've measure it up...
looks to be 5/32" dia X 32 TPI around 7/16" long, stainless button socket head screw. I suspect you might source a 1/2" one and file it's length down more easily than a 7/16"!
I've also checked this against a tap I have....its a match.
I'll do some searching for you on this.
edit:
hang on 5/32" appears too big, its definitely 32tpi......still checking!
Edit edit:
Ok looks to be #6 32 x 1/2". That is #6 gauge (dia) x 32 tpi (UNC) x 1/2" long (or slightly less), in stainless button head screw. Best place...ebay!

Hey Sandy, hny. Try these guys . They're in Wetherill Park. I got all my SS fasteners from them over the years. They'll sell by the unit and are way cheaper than Bunnings. Bring your old bolt even damaged and they'll match it over the counter.

No problemo...you can get them from fleabay Australia for as little as $3.96 free post... here.
There are other Aust suppliers on line that sell stainless steel screws...sorry I've lost them for now! I don't know why they are around 1/2" long they can be shorter!
edit:
Ahhh here the store is...the one I was thinking of. Same price $3.96 free .post
