Starstuff canned...in space no one can hear you scream
If you haven't heard the weekly podcaste called starstuff by stuart gary do yourself a favour. Easily found on iTunes or the abc science website. It is the only caste I know of the regularly reviews the scientific literature and discoveries in astronomy. It is a meditation to sit back in awe and bewilderment trying to conjour in ones mind the colossal time scales and forces, and the majestic sweap of the cosmos, and all it's exotic objects and phenomena as Stuart related it all with precision and clarity that sacrifices nothing to detail. The show has copious downloads and is broadcasts in the US. They have tried to axe the show before when it was originally broadcast live, only to relegate it to a podcast. It managed to survive despite of this.
A quick search of the internet does not reveal any information about the end of starstuff anywhere. It is barely mentioned on the starstuff twitter and tumbler accounts, with people blissfully continuing to discuss things as per usual with only one or two mentions. I don't have twitter, tumbler, or Facebook accounts, but a suggestion to those of you who do. Go to the abc science Facebook page, Stuarts Twitter account, and the various social media sights for star stuff and make your plea there. You need things to "go viral" and are likely to get more traction if the thing can start being retweated. Might I also suggest leaving a written review and complaint on the iTunes site. I've received no feedback from my letters so far. Champaign ABC!
