I have an Orion 70mm multi purpose finderscope surplus to my needs, also comes with Bintel 90 degree correct image diagonal & Orion illuminated 12.5mm plossle. Cost all together $340 from Bintel three months ago, as new condition.

Do you get focus for the stars in this configuration?

I am asking as I'm having trouble getting star focus with a very similar configuration (the only difference is that I use a 45 degree correct image diagonal).

I ended up using a simple mirror diagonal with a Bintel 32mm Plossel, but this has no correcting image.

Pwilly, I do achieve focus, I don't use either of the two spacer rings that came with the unit though

I just checked! YES you can unscrew the spacer ring. I wasn't aware of this and thought it is one metal peace (maybe I should have looked in the manual).
