I am looking for:
"Amateur Telescope Making by Albert & Ingalls (Vol 1)"
and
"Advanced telescope Making Techniques - Mechanical"
or
any other highly recommended text on mirror grinding and testing etc

Howard's old "telescope making" is very good for novices
then the bible-
Jean Texereau's "How to make a telescope"

Neil, the ATM volumes (Ingalls) and Texereau are the standard references if you're going to do it by hand. You should be able to find them secondhand on Amazon.

There is much in these that is outdated and there are better ways to do some things, but the basics of hand grinding and polishing remain valid.

They're all still published by Willmann Bell , Nobby .

I recommend this book as more contemporary and quite thorough in the french tradition of Jean Texereaux
There are links to sample chapters .

http://www.willbell.com/tm/atmmanual/index.htm

A great start for web pages is the Stellafane ATM page .
https://stellafane.org/tm/index.html

Check Mel Bartel's Mirror Making pages links from this page .
http://www.bbastrodesigns.com/tm.htmlHes probably one of the most prolific amateur mirror makers in this age , although I would tread with caution on his `comparative ronchi test '.

Hope this helps .

I have all three of the Albert Ingalls Amateur Telescope Making (hard cover, well used), Texereau's How to make a Telescope (hard cover, no jacket but good condition), Howard's Standard Handbook for Telescope Making (hard cover, jacketed and good condition) and both volumes of Mackintosh's Advanced Telescope Making Techniques (paperback, reasonable condition). I've no idea what they are worth but I'm open to offers + postage.
