First night outside with the 400D

Well I couldn't resist I had to go out and try the new camera. After spending days pouring over the manual to find out how to control the exposure time etc and I got this.....

30 sec exposure 18mm Canon 400D

Not many but I like how it turned out. I couldn't stand staying out any longer. The mozzies were HORRIBLE!!It felt like they were going to take me away even with all the spray on stuff.

Where were you Anne-Louise? In Brissie? At my place we have been clouded out for the last couple of nights, with a bit of short lived drizzle this morning. Great photo by the way!

Cheers

Hi Dennis

I took it on Saturday night (28th) at home. We haven't had any rain and the clouds were passing over rapidly. I setup the camera upstairs then headed down.

Tony was using the BAS astrovid on the moon between clouds.

Thanks for the comments, I like it too, nice atmosphere.

Hey Anne-Louise

Have you got a "spare" photo for me? I need an entry for this month's comp on Australiana. Must get my skates on, only 1 day to go...

Cheers

Hi Dennis,

Yes I know, I know. I've had an idea of one I'd like to take but I just haven't found the time without the kids to go to the spot. Tony's worked a lot and we've been busy all the time he's been home. Now we're one day away from Tonsil removal for Rigil.

I'll have to give up and go with 'the this will do' shot.

Anyway good luck, I'm sure you'll put in an intensly interesting shot. I just loved the tomatos.

Nice photo. Is that a cloud under the moon or indeed an ice crystal arc high in the stratosphere?
