Given the weather forecast I didn't think I would get any solar observing in.

Yes, thanks for the alert Richard. It is sunny here, so got the scope out to have a look. Quite a sight using a Baadar solar film filter. I could count 15 spots in that main trail and another 4 in that adjoining small trail.

Awesome image, Richard! Fantastic detail.

I too got to spy out this huge can curiously shaped sunspot cluster this morning. There was also a magnificent arch prominence flanked by a pair of pillar proms, with material streaming across to each from the larger arch. I managed a sketch of this sunspot cluster. Wonderful combination of features. I hope you don't mind me placing my rendition in your thread.
