DeHt 1 - A faint planetary

This is very much a work in progress as I need a lot more data. Unfortunately that will probably be a while given the weather so I thought I would post what I have so far. It's an interesting looking planetary with a double ring structure that you don't see very often. According to my UK colleague it hasn't been imaged by an amateur before. I had to use a lot of noise reduction but hopefully the next one should be better. I'm thinking a few hours of LRGB should do the trick.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks Rick. Actually I've just discovered that adding a Ha luminance layer seems to improve it but I'm still going to get more data when I can.

Good one Steve. Not a lot to it but it looks good.

Greg.

More data is going to help Steve. Looking pretty reasonable already though. Maybe just a little dark.

Nice little planetary, thanks for sharing. Only point I'd make is the background looks clipped (on my display at least).

Thanks Paul. Yes it is a little dark. Hopefully the next version will fix that.

Thanks Greg. It should be a more interesting field once I do LRGB because there are some galaxies there.

Very nice Steve...wonder where this one will end up when you're finished?...

As I have said before, there are literally 100's of these little buggers out there worth capturing, PN's are definitely overlooked by too many imagers.

Thanks Mike. Hopefully it will end up a better image <g>. There are some galaxies there so the end result should be quite a attractive field. I think the reason PNs are neglected is that most of them are small. I don't usually touch any smaller than about 40".

Nice to see a stretch goal producing such lovely results.

Yes - I was flirting with clipping on this one. It was hard to mask the background defects any other way. Hopefully the next version won't have that problem.

Thanks Mike and Trish. I'm not really sure what a "stretch goal" is though.
