NEQ6 help

Hi all I was wondering if anyone can help me .
I was setting up my NEQ6 for the first time last night and noticed that the RA CLOCK once locked with the Grubb screws did not rotate with the mount as it slews it just stayed still.
it moves with the mount when the clutch is released but once the clutch is engaged and I slew with the hand controller it just sits there.
is this normal or is something wrong with the mount.
This is the first time I have turned it on since buying it brand new.
all help much appreciated
Brad

It is quite normal. The two dials, one on R.A. and one on Dec are called
setting circles, and are for locating objects that you know the coordinates of. Not many people use them, finding things using the "Go To" system
instead.
It is a good idea before getting started with your new mount, to download the user's manual from the Skywatcher website, and print it out. A plastic spine from a stationers, and you have all you need to know
in one booklet.

The manual is pretty good, and prints out at about 46 pages of A4.

RA circles are adjustable so you can set to the LHA of an object.
Dec circle usually fixed as declination does not change.

I doubt you will be using either feature, as this mount is GoTo and most observers never use the setting circles these days.

Thanks guys

Thanks again guys I just didn't want to get ripped off the circles are good for leveling the mount and puck though right or is that not required either?
Also I was wondering if the long and lat numbers on the user control panel should be written in the hand set as they appear, what I mean is there are 3 sections on the IIS user control panel but only 2 on the hand set which should I be using?
Any advice more than appreciated.
Thanks Brad
