Hi. Advice please.

Found a telescope in a Cashies labelled, on the tag anyway, as a Nexstar 114. A quick glance showed it would need some tlc and possibly a bit of repair at one end as some screws are missing and the plate at the end is not attached and is loose inside the tube. The price tag of $280 was quite attractive though.

What specific things should one look for to detetmime whether it is a viable purchase and how easy are spare parts to acquire in Australia?

For $280 it sounds like too much work. There will be better, cheaper offers if you keep your eye on Gumtree.
