M83 and NGC1316

Hello

It has been a while since my last image posted here.

This time I present two targets of the southern sky.
The first one is the clasic Messier 83, also known as the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy in the constellation Hydra.

Taken at the urban skies of Santiago, between 16/6/2015 and 16/8/2015
Using my GSO RC 12" telescope and a Atik 383L camera. 11h exposure in 10min subs

high res image here:

The second target is NGC1316 also know as the Fornax A Galaxy due to its high X ray emition.
This was taken on November 2014 at a dark site near Santiago Using my 10" Vixen VMC260 Telescope and a osc QHY8L camera. (3h expo in 10 min subs).

As always, comments welcome.

Nice looking images Geert. Another tick for GSO RC's. I like the detail and the colour in each image.

Thank you Rick.

The effort to get medium quality images at urban skies is high compared to dark skies, but for me the advantage is that I can image every clean night.

Thank you Paul.
I must confess that I was about to give up, but finally got it working.
I still have to tweak a little bit the colimation, but I am very pleased with the results so far.

Thank You Mike
I totally agree, 1316 is not very colorful, but its strange giant outer halo is very intriguing
