Daylight Moon pics!

Thought I would play with the levels during daylight (5-6pm) capture of the Moon this afternoon.

I got some reasonable close-ups using an ED80 and the Toucam on a 9mm Plossl but I prefer these 2 below.

Pic 1: Copernicus area,
Pic 2: The Moon.

I love the colours that show up in daytime Lunar pics

Ta Andrew.

If you look at the large Moon pic it has a dark line around the limb.

Could be something like contrast artifact

Very cool moon shots. I have been thinking about daylight shots - might have a go.

Cheers Petra

Same sort of effect that happens with stars when processed. Too bad that program wont do the moon, I bet if your clever Mr Ken you could erase the black line

OK Andrew, you talked me into it. I'll take the pic into PaintShop and get rid of the Artifact.

Yep it is exactly the same as Star Black-eye! and no, I doubt if Loreal will get rid of it. It's a bit BIG!

Go for it Petra. You can get some amazing colours on the Lunar surface in the daylight.

That is nice Leon!!!

Yours shows slight colouring in Mares Tranquillitatus and Serentitatus too
The colours really show up the minerals.
Wish I could've got better focus today like yours Leon, but it was thin hazy cloud when I did them.

Here is mine with the Blackeye taken out.

These are 2 of the Close-ups I took. They are with the ED80 on EQ1, 9mm Plossl and Toucam Pro II.

You can see the cloud haze in our atmosphere more in these ones.
