what a find for me!

firstly i love collecting eyewear, particularly american from the 1920's to the 50's
came across these the other day and i cannot believe my luck, 1940's american safety glasses, original, never worn.......... ever!
i think they must have been used for furnace work as the extremely (unwearable) dense blue tint in the flip up covers only the top half of the frame
it is complete with all of my favourite add ons, besides the flip up sunglass, mesh sideshields and american curl sided temples so that they will never fall off
the things weigh a ton as only glass was available in those days and industrial thickness was either 3.2mm edge thickness for a plus lens or 3.2mm centre thickness for negative prescriptions, and on top of that the blue lens is 3.2mm tinted glass too!
i have ordered my multifocals for a pair and i have sent the top sunnie section to a technician to edge a pair of polarised plano lenses into the top ha ha!
