20 minute swim

Forgot I had taken 2 x 10 min shots OSC of M8 a week ago.

FSQ-106ED at f/5, SBIG ST-8300C, 20 min total. Slightly out of focus, and didn't recalibrate PHD. Cropped for aesthetics

Meh...but it is only 20 mins

EDIT: CORRECT online version - 2nd image - added. Disregard the washy first one unless you like that kinda thing

Hey thats pretty good for a 20 minute shot Lewis. Backgraouns perhaps a little bright for my taste, but that's a personal thing. Coulours look good, a touch soft as you say but overall a very pleasing image.

Yeah,I stretched the SNOT out of it, and did every trick I have ever learnt to get it to even look remotely acceptable. I lost count of the permutations and combinations used to extract what I did, but the Tak COULD and DID, just the end user fudging focus a touch and only getting 20 minutes on it...and with an OSC

I'll never catch Mike or Paul's amount of data up here in Rainsville, so I just fiddle with what I have (kind of like everything in life )

Nice results Lewis. U, like me, seem to prefer the higher contrast rather than the washed out look. And the image has taken it really well.
Good stuff - Trev

Thanks Trevor. Yes, I prefer contrast to gaudy colour but each to their own. The new trend for fluorescence leaves me cold.

Getting colours close to accepted hue with an OSC with an LPS filter is challenging - reds originally come out a greenish orange. But, frankly, I like working with OSC. More challenging. I so deeply regret ever selling my FLI ML8300C, but this SBIG ST8300C is pretty close anyway.

Thanks to all who commented. Perhaps this weekend I can add some more data but having said that, I am now jinxed.
