Distant Suns

First up, I don't have any affiliation with this developer!
I already had a couple of other very good astronomy apps (SkyView, Star Chart) on my iPhone and iPad; but I was always looking for the "One App To Rule Them All"
Distant Suns is payware, but I have found it to be worth every cent! It is quite easy to use, with features such as:
- "what's up?" screen, provides an overview of thinks for your given location/time.
- Easy user interface, easy to swap between "compass" view (move your device to view/target objects and "drag" scroll view.
- Comprehensive pop-up information on a selected object
- Scrolling "Astronomy News" at screen top
- Comprehensive set-up options, including SETI and Keck links
- An "Events" calendar, but only good for US-of-A users!

Distant Suns has been around (on other platforms) for along time; it is a very refined package!
I guess all these apps do similar; I just think this one does it that bit easier / wonderful graphics / more comprehensive information than most! Would love to hear other user opinions...

Sky Portal (Free) does it for me on Android. All the above features plus a few more I think. Has a good 'What's up' feature for objects that night. Updates Comets automatically

I've been using Distant Suns since I got my first iPhone 3GS, love the app. Only problem I had with the app for a while is that it didn't like daylight savings for a while. One time was correct in the app and another wasn't.

That's fixed now so all good :-)
