When Crows Attack!

Went for a drive down to the Royal National Park in Sydney yesterday. After missing a photo opportunity earlier in the day of a Wedge Tailed Eagle gliding on thermals, I didn't want to miss out on another chance if I spotted them again.

Well, I wasn't entirely ready for my second chance either... I was shooting some wide angle shots with my 16-32mm when I noticed that this time, a Sea Eagle was soaring above me. I went to quickly change the lenses over to my 70-200mm when a Crow comes out of nowhere and starts attacking the Eagle. Was pretty cool watching the two "dog fight".

Crows are pretty bird birds, but gee, comparing it to the Eagle makes it look tiny.

Just hearing a pair of crows out side as I read this.
Great capture Jason. Most often I have seen smaller birds chasing the crows away.
I had a pair follow me on day during a photographic outing. They kept perching in the trees above me and lmocking me with that cynical laugh of theirs :-)
Although, I think but am not certain, that the black birds we have here in Tas. are Ravens, and not Crows.

Thanks all, it was interesting watching it unfold right there. Never thought any bird would try attack an Eagle! But I guess they do!

Wow Ed, that's pretty amazing and funny too! How good are those photos?!
