The value of money

I was just on Bintel's website looking up the price for televue Plossls. An 11mm plossl is $145, not too bad . That got me thinking about the amount of money the missus and daughter spent at the Perth Royal show the other day , $130 For 130 bucks you get entry, a few crappy showbags full of lollies and cheap chinese plastic toys, a coupla rides and some hot dogs for dinner. I didn't go to the show as I consider it a rip off and I would hate to think how much the beer would have cost there

Yeah I have to agree, women will spend heaps on an experience where as men tend to value material goods.

I've seen some really good price's on Bintel's website! i.e. there's a RACI 8x50 finder for $99AU which is about 33CYP and to me thats a REALLY GOOD DEAL, considering the cheapest RACI around the EU is about 75CYP! I wonder how good are their bintel-labeled products...

I was considering exactly this just days ago... astronomy toys vs show stuff. I went to the Perth Royal Show with my partner on Thursday, combined we spent about $350, I was the worst culprit not her . I have to admit, only going to the show once every 5 years or so, We love to splash out and just have fun. We ended up with about 7 show bags between us (some by small local producers not the big confectionary companies), and I did spend $120 on a new camping mat (bit odd to buy such a thing at the show, but they were there and I wanted one...), all fun. Then there was the burgers, donuts, waffles and all that other great food

Besides, if I were to spend money on astro stuff it'd be more thna $300 ... so it's sort of like spend it on the show or it goes on the mortgage

Oh, and we filled in a survey each to get a free ticket each to next year's show.. that'll save us $40.

Roger.

Phil, it all depends on the experience!
I paid $180 to skydive, and it was worth it for the experience.
But in relation to what Mick was saying,
Personally I'd get more pleasure from a nice Televue ep. than from battling crowds in the showbag pavilion.

For some Chinese and Taiwanese gear Australia has some great prices. So come on down! Bintel labelled gear is usually by GSO Taiwan.

It is actually a very good thing. Now I can easily justify buying said e/p for chrissie When Pam told me how much she spent I asked her did she enjoy herself? she did. Fantastic

Being a student and Pam being preggers means things have been a little tight of late so it is good to reward ourselveselves occasionally.
