Advice on pricing telescope

I have a skywatcher 8 inch reflector on an eq6 mount. It has the pier adapter and an 8mm orion eyepiece and other eyepieces and bits and pieces. The unit is 8 years old and in good condition. Any ideas on what it is worth?

Find me a piece of string. Measure it.

SO many variables to consider: mirror condition (both mirrors), focuser, extras included, cosmetic condition, wear and tear, rust and so on.

Generally, a second hand EQ6 runs $1000 to $1200, but if it is 8 years old - one of the older ones - it will be less as these had initial QC issues (especially the motor board, axis shims and bearing quality), and had the single puck with only the Vixen dovetail. I have seen the "First Gen" EQ6's for as low as $700 (I piad $600 for mine, and it had been "hypertuned").

Does the mount have the Synscan GOTO, or is it one of the early non-GOTO mounts? If it is non-GOTO, it's going to dramatically lower the resale price.

As to the telescope, which model? Is it a fast Newt, say f/4 or f/5? Or is it a slower visualNewt (f/6 and above). Is it a blue tube? Does it have the single speed focuser, or the dual speed focuser?

Post some pictures, and go from there. Just SO many variables, it really is, without pictures, a "How long is a piece of string" question.

Whatever you think it's worth, cut that in half and you'd have a chance of selling it. Suggest you sell the items separately rather than as a group.

My second scope was an 8" skywatcher on an EQ5 mount. (not goto)
$899 Brand new.

I sold the OTA 12 months later for $300. (it was f/5 and for visual use)

Hope this is some help
