What a difference

Hi all, geez what a difference a few hours makes. I had a great night last night with clear skies and had a great session both imaging and viewing.
I then woke up this morning with Astro-cat doing the Mexican hat dance on me and demanding his breakfast and there are wild weather alerts and rain,
I only went to bed for 6 hours and what a change around. I was making tentative plans for another short session tonight but it looks like I jinxed myself.

cheers

I had a mongrel session last night - apparently now I hear there might be a bug in the current version of Losmandys Gemini - so in its "Polar Axis Correction" feature it is giving dud advice, making you correct in the reverse direction..... so I spent 2.5hr chasing my tail! I've certainly learnt the location of all the bright stars in the sky now!
Might just pull out the dob tonight......

And it's still blowing a storm down here, no chance of doing anything down this way tonight. I watched "Doom" the extended DVD version instead, what a classic with "The Rock" as "Sarge". The critics will and have totally canned it but for a couple of hours of escapism it's brilliant. There is a 5½ minute sequence of first person shooter straight out of the computer game that is worth the price of the DVD alone, I reckon all the Doom gamers will love it.

cheers

i set up my scope on friday, started photos and was interupted by clouds, still came out with a good photo though, packed up for the night

yesterday after i finished drift align on my scope the clouds took over so i called it a night,

it was cloudy all day today, cleared up later in the evening with some heavy winds, its calmed down now and clear, doing the last of my drift alignment right now, should be ready for imaging very soon. been looking forward to this, i hope it stays clear all night!
