did not think the dreamliner was as nice a looking plane as the airbus, but in flight she is kinda pretty!
i really love the shape of the wings on the airbus, they seem more "integrated" with the main body of the aircraft, and are a lovely gull shape too!

Wonder of it could with a full load, and if they would, if we all threw in an extra $50 for the fuel cost :-)

Wow! Was it a camera zooming effect or did that thing climbed that fast on take off?

A bit of smoke and mirrors methinks, looked pretty impressive though

No, take off real (exaggerated by camera position and angle).

One of the most memorable sights in my life was watching my father depart Rockhampton in a B777 - he had delivered a load of Singapore Armed Forces grunts, so going back to Singapore he was essentially empty - captain, F/O, second officer and fuel...

So, he didn't need much coercion to demonstrate an essentially empty B777 at max angle of climb... I mean 800kN+ thrust total... almost empty airframe.... (same situation as in the Dreamliner video)...

Yeah, it was STEEP and severely impressive! NEVER forget it.

Another VERY memorable experience was 1990 out of Frankfurt in a Birdseed (BA) B757 - Capt was asked max performance to get out of there for sequencing as we were running late. He got out of there alright..firewalled, pointing up and went like a bat out of hell (B757 is over-powered for the airframe, which is a good thing )

Here is a ground shot of the same performance as in the video.

No smoke and mirrors
