The one who cannot be named

Well, I did it again. Personal best both in term of acquisition and processing so very happy with it. 1h in 2min subs with a GSO8" F/4 QHY9 and Baader 7nm.

1:1 full field here [3336x2496 - 2.7MB]

Processed in CCD Stack, Ivo's excellent Startools and PS.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks When M8 is up, one simply cannot let it pass by. It's un-australian. Well not full moon but pretty close. It was Monday night. Last night was nice and bright too.

Hi, Marc,

Superb! The hourglass and the eight or so brightest shock fronts are all razor sharp and very nicely processed. Love it.

Best,
M & T

Thanks. First run of clear skies we've had in Sydney for a long time so I made the most of it.

Nice to see all these beautiful mono nebs being posted right now- yours is a very good one too Marc, well done

Btw was the title a reference to the bane under Mt. Thunder in the Donaldson/Thomas Covenant book series?

Cheers
Andy

Nice, after seeing yours and PW's 6188 it seems the 7nm to handle the moonlight very well.
