Neq6p Control Board - where source ?

Hi there

Dang, think I shorted the mount whilst changing battery, had one battery going flat, so hooked up another battery parallel & in doing so, a bit of bare + pos wire hit the tripod leg, good sparks from a full 120amp gel cell
Early morn and didnt want to contend with it, so needed to pull down the mount, will double check later, pretty sure it killed it as mount was doing Nothing afterward

Ive looked through the site and nothing is 'jumping out' on where to source these Control Boards ?
Also assuming, would be same board as Eq6 ?

Cheers & appreciate any helpful assistance

Bob, is there a fuse somewhere on the controller?
Maybe it blew?

Is there a use in the cigar plug end of the power cable? Many of those cables are fused insde the plug. Easy to check with a multimetre or open it up.

I'm pretty sure there is Glen, Ill check it too , , tho if I sent voltage through the leg, it would have gone straight to the mount head, I reckon the fuse in the cig plug would only be a safety factor if a over-surge comes from the power plant ?
Ill check it anyway mate

If the MCB is shot, Teleskop Express in Germany have replacements. I got an MCB for an EQ5 there for a good price since all Aussie dealers were out with a LONG wait.

I did get an NEQ6 MCB from Sirius Optics in Brisvegas, but that was when Ron owned it. He had like 5 new ones in a drawer! You could TRY the new owners - no idea if they have them.

Also, Tasco MAY sell direct to you. Rob USED to repond directly to end user requests, but I have never received even a reply from them last time I needed help, worse luck.

But DO check the fuses first - cable and board.

Yes they are the ones I found through googling, tasco and some German site, thought ask to find some where more appropriate, closer in aus - Tasco only listed the MCB for eq5's at this time ? I didnt dig too hard, hence here, and thanx for the Confirmation with your scouces Lewis

In saying that, it appears that I might not need one - yay - tested mount from scratch today, no blown fuses, power-up and all went well, just mount on tripod, start sequence all normal, 1 star align normal, slew target both axis normal, manual slews 180 degs normal, ran through all menus and everything there ect !

Very lucky I reckon, tho havent put through a full operation with guiding yet, but hopeful alls ok , , ,

The sparks were quite strong, felt easily and heard easily also, must have shocked well most of the units components but not 'fry' them, and hopefully no hanging damage that may arise down the track - only time will tell !

Lastly, I do appreciate all input from all, it is indeed very supportive and useful
