HEQ5 current draw

Can anyone tell me if the oft quoted figure of 2 amps is the max draw
of this mount when slewing on both axes simultaneously, or is it for each
motor?

Skywatcher website shows the power supply side as 2amps input so it would seem that it is combined. However, do both motots ever run at max slew at the same time probably not. If the maker says 2amps in that should be good enough I would think. You could test it with an amp meter inline if you have one.

Thanks for the reply Glen. When performing a go to my R.A. motor
runs at full speed, and the dec motor is running as well, although I
haven't noticed how fast the dec motor is running. It's just this
second I realised that the dec motor would have a much lower
current draw anyway, as it is only swinging the OTA, and not the weights.
