The Doublet in Ha

This is another project I am working on at present. It has a long way to go yet but the Ha is almost done at 240 minutes.

The composition is probably a bit quirky, but I like the way both objects fit into the frame.

Love that one. Very cool. Sharp focus and lots of contrasty details. Top shelf.

A wonderful image, Paul. The composition is good because it causes us to see lots of new and interesting detail that we've never noticed before. There is a complex set of faint shock fronts (perhaps part of an old SNR ??) between the lagoon and trifid that we've not seen before. Lots more. Most enjoyable.

Loving the details you're getting, esp with the triffid. Awesome work!

Nice image Paul. Those tendrils between the Lagoon and Trifid are interesting. I don't recall seeing those before. Nice and solid image with lots of 3D depth.

Greg.

Nice indeed.

Now that I have gone back to an FSQ-106ED, watch out, I'll do a better one.

The Trifid looks "naked" in HA.

Looking very good, Paul! I also haven't noticed the faint detail between M8 and M20. You've really got your system running well.

Looking forward to future additions.

Cheers

Rod

You are right Paul, the lagoon and the trifid in the same field are fantastic. The full resolution image is beautiful ... waiting for color :-)
Cheers,

Can't wait to see the color version Paul. Beware the magenta monster, but you know, I've grown to like the magenta versions over the red versions of this area. ;-)

Yea but your scope retention time is shorter than most of Paul's total integrations.

excellent imaging and processing the handling of the dynamic range is great. loving the faint details between the lagoon and triffid, and I always think the triffid looks odd in Ha.

Stunning detail Paul.
I wasn't completely convinced about the aesthetics of the framing at first but its growing on me....
Would love to see this worked up in HST colour palette, I'm sure you'll nail it!

Fantastic work, Paul. The Lagoon nebula is a personal favourite and I am fascinated by the crisp detail that you've managed to bring out on that target in Ha. I think the way you've chosen to frame both Lagoon and Trifid really works and I'm very much looking forward to seeing a colour version of this.
