Starting to take some shape!!

So much for first light last weekend...... My scope is starting to take shape, but far from finished. There were so many finishing touches to be done that I had never even anticipated. My main issue has been trying to get the azimuth rocker bolt as low as possible, but still being dsc compatible and allowing for a really short, strong rocker box. More pics of this to come......However here are some quick snaps of the scope almost finished, with only the wheelbarrow handles to install, and all the dsc harware.

Needless to say I am very happy with how its starting to look!! I think a 20" may be on the cards in the not so distant future now!

The big surprise for me will be first light, as I have never ever looked through anything bigger than 12". I am hoping I wont get aperture fever now for at least a few years!!!!!

Very swish Mark. A fine piece of art. I don't think you will get aperture fever if it's as good to look through as it is to look at

I'm impressed and that is not easy to do. If it performs like it looks then you are going to be one really happy little camper.

CONGRATS on a really well done job.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!!! I really appreciate it!!

And dont worry about how she will perform. The movements are buttery smooth on both axises, The mirror is a pearler from Mr. Suchting, and the rocker is as low and stiff ass is humanly possible.

These 3 elements combined should make for a nice package!!!

More pics of progress very soon!!!

Stay tuned.

From work. We have a big piece of it, about 6ft X 6ft of virgin teflon. I have tons of it leftover. Send me a stamped padded bag and I will give it to you if you like.
