1100D or 1200D

Hi All

Which would you go for?

A new 1200D for $354.37, Dick Smith today, only online, body only,

OR, keep trying for a used 1100D?

I will eventually get it modified.

IF I understand correctly, the sensor in the 1100D is probably better for astrophotography as it has larger pixels.

Any thoughts welcome

If it were me, I would check ebay for a used 1100D. There's a few here that use it and in my mind the results are stunning compared to my 1000D.
Bruce.

Hi Bruce

I have looked on ebay, and keep missing by 'that much'.

Annoying!

There is a limit to what I can justify at the moment for a second hand camera, too many other bills.

What's your imaging scope Philip?
If it's the 8" SCT, then I think a 1100D is probably a better fit with larger pixels, without losing much detail.

Hi Bo

It is the 8", and I am still trying for an 1100D. I agree that the larger pixel size could be better. Mind you, I am speaking out of ignorance not knowledge. i have tried reading a lot of stuff on the web.

I think I will end up trying a wanted ad on Gumtree.
