Hi all, time to post another image, again of a popular galaxy group, the Leo Triplet.
I again pushed a bit the processing here to make visible the most intriguing features of this trio, i.e. the spectacular tidal tail of NGC 3628, the hamburger galaxy.
Leo Trio
This one is a classic LRGB composition, totaling 8 hours of light, half of that in Luminance. Unfortunately found out that several RGB fits were, well, unfit for the composition so the chroma contribution is somewhat less than what I use to add, however it turned out still good enough to bring vibe to the luminance.
Details on the galaxies are clearly limited by my relatively short focal length but I got my goal to image most of the tidal tail
Hope you will like it. As usual full resolution image is visible clicking at the dedicated bottom right icon on the web page.
Clear skies
