i cannot believe how dark dwellingup was!
this was our first relatively successful dark sky outing ever, and i was not disappointed
i was amazed firstly at how long the exposures had to be, more than five times the length i am used to!
dwellingup only about an hour and half SE of perth in the middle of state forrest
the pic does seem quite noisy too

orion 80 guide with lodestar

10 times 10 min exposures
5 times 10 min exposures (thought i had 10)
no flats but i will add them soon
could not seem to get a decent image from PS so this is purely DSS!
any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated

love it.. if you ever want company on a trip that way shout me a pm... i trekked up to mundaring saturday nite for some dark skies... was so so but still so much better than the back yard at home.
thanks ben and martin
................. strangely when we got to dwellingup all of the regular camp sites were full, we had about 2 hours to find somewhere so we did the "naughty thing" and camped in a clearing off a gravel track
we came clean at the gate on our way home and we did get ticked off by a nice lady ha ha!
all of the camp sites there however seemed to be all treed in, so perhaps for a couple of days it was worth it
i did also manage 7 times 16 second exposures of the night sky with my 60da a static tripod and a samyang 35mm at f1.4, pic attached
the focus may have been a little off, but it was a nice sky!
