Is This The Correct Procedure

Hi All

To connect my Canon DLSR to a SCT do I follow this procedure.

First Focal Reducer, than T Thread Adapter, followed by T Mount Adapter, then Camera, is this correct, or can i do away with any one item except the camera of coarse.

Now that this is done, i plug my camera into the lappy, with image plus software and get confused from there

Would someone be kind enough to explain the correct procedure to image through an SCT which will be aligned and on a wedge.

Thanks leon

Hi Leon

I don't use an SCT to image but the sequence you are using is the same as my refractor.

On your copy of ImagesPlus either 2.75 or the current 2.80 there is a folder called DSLR something or other, in there is a complete video tutorial on how to connect your camera, focus and take automated sequences, have a look at that, may answer your question.

Cheers

JohnG

EDIT: The folder is called DSLR Control.

Thanks John.
I am a little ahead of myself, but am getting ready for the challenge.

Image Plus is on it's way from the states as we speak, and the SCT arrives Monday morning.
I'm just getting prepared, so i can get into it.

Hi Leon

I don't know anything about the 5D so I can only asume that you have the appropriate cables for both long and short exposures, you will need them.

When you get your copy of ImagesPlus, there will be a series of video presentations, from memory it is about 5 CD's, on the main install CD is the Basic Operation and DSLR Control videos, that will get you started, when you get your copy it may well answer your questions.

Have fun learning.

Cheers

hi leon what kind of sct are you getting i know from experience that to get all those bits together includind camera is rather tight for an 8inch sct. you need a low profile adapter.
