Lunar Eclipse AP140

I was stunned to see the clouds had parted and the sky was totally clear after all day overcast/light rain at about 10:30 or so.

Even more surprised to see a lunar eclipse in progress.

I rapidly setup everything and got these 2 images. The 2nd image is very colourful and that is how it came out of the camera, I haven't done any colour processing on it.

AP140, Proline 16803, PMX mount, LRGB 4 subexposures each.

Thanks Mirko. I wasn't in Sydney though, I was at my dark site in Bigga.

That's great, Greg. Looks like you caught a good break in the clouds.

Thanks Marc. I was not even monitoring the weather as it had been overcast and light rain most of the day and early night. I think it turned out to be a brief opening in the skies for an hour or so. A lucky break.

Thanks Rick.

It was some trial and error getting the exposures right plus the changing light from the eclipse. In hindsight 10 subs each may have been the go as it does not change much over the 5 minutes that would have taken.

Greg.
