Asteroid data hunter

Asteroid data hunter is now available at http://www.topcoder.com/asteroids/asteroiddatahunter/

Bad news if your running a windows system. These scientific Einsteins have programmed it for a 64bit system
only. I still can't get it to run on my laptop. I get a detector.exe crash!!! There's no community website for help
and a very poor manual. Still it's early days!!

Cheers
Stephen

downloaded the app and and some image data...
interesting that it launches to a browser and as a local host.
not sure that was a really necessary thing for this app.

Any way it got most of the way through searching the sample data and the said it had an error in the backend process when at about 80%....

not really happy that the data files are not a readable fits. I can not load one into imageJ...

kind regards, Alan.

I get to about 70% then get the same error. Might be another bug! Bummer.

Found a NASA issue blog for this program. Issues 5 and 10
https://github.com/nasa/NTL-Asteroid...unter/issues/5
https://github.com/nasa/NTL-Asteroid...nter/issues/10
seem to be what we are having. This program needs the headers to
be NASA perfect fits headers so we are screwed until someone re-writes this program to handle our files. Gee they really want this to be used by the masses!!!
Cheers

Oh good stuff.. I'll try some of the STEREO images I have. and also some of the local Astro tortilla images...? the later will work in Imagej and show correct coords using a plugin. Trying to tie AT to a processing.org front end I am working on. For real time solve and object detection.

If you can't join 'em ...beat 'em....

Kind regards, Alan Watson.
