Thanks for all the fuss folks. I am sure it will be no more or less than from my GF or SO. At my age I am glad to still be vertical and moving, let alone carry heavy expensive bits outside to bolt them onto a metal object that moves with a mind of it's own and exposing all to the elements. Then when it is all over bring the lot in again at some time near dawn (hopefully).
The only compensation is a few million coloured pixels for all of us. I hope they convey some meaning or information.
I found a picture just recently taken in 1973 when I was at Kodak. This is before thirty years at CSIRO.
Will post a current pic later, just need a 'soft' lens.
Thanks Bert.

lol nice picture Bert, even got your name on your pocket protector
Here's a tip for the current shot, rub nose oil onto your lens as a natural soften filter.

Yeah Mike I can just imagine Bert with a jar of oil, smearing the 300mm f/2.8 just so it's got a nice soft look.
Happy Birthday Bert.
Hope you get good clear skies.

If he's using the 300mm, he'll have to set up a timed exposure and then sprint 30 metres to the other side of the yard, unless he wants a real closeup
