Astronomy/physics related activity ideas?

I am taking my telescope down south with a couple of friends and I want to do something physics related with my telescope. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do?

Thanks,
Luke

Variable star observing, occultation things, supernova hunting - all very valuable things to be doing with your telescope. Although there's a fairly steep learning curve before you're likely to be making a contribution. Check out the AAVSO website - probably a great place to start!
Have fun!
Andrew.
