Centaurus A (NGC 5128)

Centaurus A
I finally had a chance to play with some of the data i obtained last weekend.

Im still having some trouble with my stars over cooked and odd shaped.
I cant wait for that day i manage to get round blue stars.
MPCC coma corrector is next on my wish list.

4x600 sec subs for RGB(each)
8x420 sec for luminance

F4 with my LXD75 8"

Good effort Michael and not a bad result. Guiding looks relatively good, and there is some good detail in the galaxy. Just watch the black clipping, you have lost some faint detail by clipping the black points

HI Michael
You polar alignment could be slightly out use star tag to get accurate
polar aligned it comes with instructions how to use it is easy and fast
it is a free down load use you camera to get polar aligned.

Willik I'm fairly certain my alignment is good i've been using alignmaster for a long time now.
I think the problem was in the growing weight of my gear and perhaps the fact that i only have a tripod setup i don't have the luxury of a pier .

Having a good look at my subs about half are poor due to tracking i think.
my setup now weighs over 17kg now i think i might be pushing it a little for my eq6.

Good news is though i am now the proud owner of an eq8 i want to get a bigger OTA in the future so i thought might as well take the plunge now and get a good solid mount.
Cant wait to try it out.

Thanks Joshua i cant wait to have a second go at Centaurus to get a better image.
Your right i did get a bit carried away with my black clipping in Photoshop i had some odd vignetting in the bottom right side of all my images lately even after applying flats.
Im still trying to find a good method of fixing the gradients i have tried startools but not sure if its worth forking out money just to fix my gradients.
I also tried Doug German's method here

I really like Doug's version mentioned. I have been using it well and with Corel Draw too.
