Geez Raymo, you're good at this. That is a great photo, especially unguided with 100 sec exposure times. Very nice.

Thank you both. I've borrowed a hand controller, so at least I should be
able to find out if it is the cause of my tracking problem.

Another nice one raymo, looks like you're getting the hang of Photoshop

Good luck with the HC.

Thanks Dunk; I still can't get my head around PS, regardless of all the money I've spent on books, CDs, etc: on the subject. I only use PS for downsizing, a highly uneconomic exercise. I still just use DSS, and do some tweaks in Zoom Browser EX. I also still don't use separate
darks, flats, bias, etc. At my age I don't expect to ever move up off
the bottom rung of the digital AP ladder. I actually preferred the film days, even though the results weren't as good. Now, being under the stars seems to be incidental, it's all about more and more hardware and software, and countless hours sitting in front of a comp, and cursing when
devices don't perform as they should. The enjoyment aspect of AP for me
has almost entirely disappeared. My rant for today.

Never say never raymo

I really only use darks so far, and even then sometimes I forget

I must say, last month I spent some time doing some much overdue visual with buddies and thoroughly enjoyed it. Imaging wise I know I'll never be up to the standards of the main Deep Space images section, so I'm just happy with what I get.
